Fiber and satellite powered internet, are two very distinct technologies, each with its own advantages and limitations.
⚡Fiber -optic cables transmit data using light signals through thin strands of glass. WCCTA's network is 100% buried fiber, making it less susceptible to weather, is direct to your location and not shared by others. Fiber plans typically have higher data caps or even unlimited usage, so users aren't noticing any interruptions, WCCTA does not have data caps!
🛰️Satellite relies on signals sent to and from satellites in orbit around earth. This type of shared connection can typically have broader coverage and can reach remote areas where fiber isn't feasible. However, satellite can be affected by weather, have lag times, data caps and usage limits, which can slow down users and impact experience.

Over the past couple year's we've introduced Gizmo - The Internet Guard Dog to our surrounding schools and communities, so kids can learn how to stay safe online.
